An animated explainer video designed to introduce Flamboyan Foundation’s REAL Family Engagement initiative through dynamic visuals, inclusive characters, and a values-driven narrative.

  • With a finalized script and a mission to share their major initiative with a broader audience, Flamboyan entrusted us to bring the REAL Family Engagement (RFE) story to life.

    We began with a workshop to refine the script and establish a design direction. Alongside a designer, I developed a comprehensive visual storyboard that mapped each scene with attention to goal alignment, narrative clarity, and creativity. Biweekly meetings with the client allowed us to review rough cuts and incorporate feedback on movement, characters, color, and composition.

    Our process followed an Agile-inspired workflow, enabling creative flexibility while keeping the project on schedule and aligned with stakeholder expectations. Throughout this time I managed two separate vendors and our in-house design time each responsible for delivering key facets of the finished product.

    Visually, we drew from the existing RFE brand identity—triangles and vibrant palettes—using origami as a metaphor for discovery and growth. Characters interact with shapes in unique ways, building toward the core message: that a shared vision, across diverse families and communities, can create an equitable world. The video was visually engaging, emotionally resonant, and strategically aligned with Flamboyan’s goals.

    The final product premiered at the 2024 National Family Engagement Summit and was used to promote the initiative throughout Flamboyan’s partner network.
